Privacy Policy
A clear explanation of what Sonachrome stores, what stays on your device, and the choices you control.Last updated September 3, 2026Who operates Sonachrome
Sonachrome is the name of this service and is operated from the United States. Sonachrome controls the personal information used to provide the website, app, accounts, and cloud services described in this policy.
Privacy questions and requests can be sent to support@sonachrome.com.
Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, account ID, profile image when supplied by a sign-in provider, verification status, and sign-in method.
- Authentication and security information: session identifiers, login and verification records, timestamps, IP address, browser or device information, and request logs used to authenticate users, prevent abuse, and diagnose failures.
- Cloud content: project names, visual settings, timelines, favorites, artwork, text, and other project data you choose to save or sync.
- Feature usage: the start time and number of visual creations in your current 24-hour allowance, used to apply Free-plan limits and provide Pro access.
- Billing information: Stripe customer and subscription IDs, plan and payment status, renewal date, and cancellation status. Stripe handles payment-card details; Sonachrome does not receive or store your full card number.
- Communications: Contact-form messages are used to respond to you and are delivered through our configured email provider. They are not stored in Sonachrome’s project database.
- Website and product analytics: Google Analytics receives page and device information, including the page visited, referrer, browser and device type, approximate location, and events such as a successful account creation. Analytics does not include your name, email address, audio, artwork, or project content.
Your music stays on your device
Music is processed in your browser for playback, analysis, visuals, and export. Audio files are not uploaded with cloud projects or used to train models.
Why we use information
- Contract: to create and secure your account, sync projects, provide visual sharing and Pro features, process billing, and respond to service requests.
- Legitimate interests: to protect Sonachrome and its users, prevent fraud and abuse, maintain reliability, investigate errors, and improve security. We balance those interests against your privacy rights.
- Legal obligations: to maintain required billing or accounting records and respond to valid legal requests.
- Consent: where applicable law requires us to ask before a specific use. You may withdraw consent for that use at any time.
Sonachrome does not use personal information for solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. We do not sell personal information or use session recording. Google Analytics is used to understand traffic, page performance, and account creation so we can improve Sonachrome; advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled.
Service providers and international processing
We disclose information only as needed to operate Sonachrome: Hostinger provides hosting and database infrastructure; Stripe processes subscriptions and billing; Google processes information for Google sign-in and Google Analytics; and our email provider delivers verification, password-reset, and support messages. Sentry receives technical error reports and limited performance data when error reporting is configured.
These providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. When privacy law requires a safeguard for an international transfer, we rely on an available lawful mechanism such as an adequacy decision or contractual data-protection clauses. You may contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data.
Shared visual codes
A short visual code stores the visual engine settings and colors needed to recreate that visual. It does not contain your audio file, but anyone who has the code can retrieve the visual settings without signing in, so only share a code with people you intend to receive it.
Shared visual codes automatically expire 24 hours after creation. An expired code can no longer retrieve its visual and is automatically removed from Sonachrome’s database. Deleting your account also deletes every visual code created by that account.
Retention and deletion
- Account information, cloud projects, and account feature-usage counters are kept while the account is active. Deleting your account permanently removes that account, its cloud projects, usage counter, and shared visual codes.
- Shared visual codes become unusable 24 hours after creation and are automatically deleted during the next scheduled cleanup.
- Authentication sessions and verification or reset records are kept until they expire, are used, or are no longer needed for account security.
- Request, security, and error logs are kept on a rolling basis for only as long as reasonably needed to secure, operate, and troubleshoot the service. Information connected to an incident may be retained longer while the incident is investigated.
- Billing, webhook, fraud-prevention, tax, and accounting records may be kept by Sonachrome or Stripe for the period required by applicable law or a legitimate dispute.
- Data stored locally in your browser remains on that device until you remove it or clear the browser’s site data.
Your privacy rights
You can access your projects, cancel Pro, sign out, or delete your account from the Account panel. Depending on where you live and the legal basis involved, you may also request access to, correction or deletion of, a portable copy of, or restriction of processing for your personal information. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
Send privacy requests to support@sonachrome.com. We may verify your identity before completing a request.
Complaints
If you have a privacy concern, contact support@sonachrome.com so we can investigate it. You may also complain to the privacy or data-protection authority where you live or work. UK users can contact the Information Commissioner’s Office; EEA users can find their authority through the European Data Protection Board.
Children
Sonachrome is not intended for children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child under 13 created an account.

We may update this policy as Sonachrome changes. Important updates will be posted on the website or in the app. Questions can be sent to support@sonachrome.com.
